Dean Collins

⭐️ STAR APPRENTICE AT NIXONS ENGINEERING ⭐️

P️ictured is apprentice Dean Collins. Dean is a 39 year old mature age 3rd year apprentice Fitter Machinist at Nixons Engineering in Wagga. Dean was looking at a career change after years of working as a Senior Manager in his previous role. Dean decided he wanted a change, so he made the decision to do a complete career change! Dean always had an interest in things mechanical and an opportunity for a position arose at Nixons as an apprentice Fitter Machinist. This was a huge consideration for Dean to give up his senior management job to go back to basics as a new apprentice. While worried that his age might have been an obstacle, he applied for a position and was successful in gaining the job. Dean is progressing very well in his apprenticeship and has become a valued member of the Nixons team. Dean say’s “I really enjoy the work at Nixons and the added learning from TAFE. Nixons provided me with a great opportunity, they have a very diverse range of work and they utilise a great range of equipment to develop my skills, the equipment at Nixons is very specialised and some of the state of the art equipment is not readily available in most engineering workshops.”
