  • APPRENTICE ROOF PLUMBER

    GTES, in conjunction with our a client a local roofing business, are currently seeking applications from hard working, self-motivated and passionate individual to join their team as an Apprentice Roof Plumber.

    As an Apprentice Roof Plumber you will work alongside a team of experienced tradesmen to develop your skills in all aspects of this specialised trade including the installation of fascia and guttering, interpretation of building plans, selection and installation of wall cladding, preparation of building materials and fixing of sheet metal.

    To be successful in this position you must be hard working, willing to learn, safety conscious and be confident working at heights. The successful applicant must be willing to travel as part of their work duties and may also be required to stay overnight from time to time. A current driver’s licence is also essential.

     As an Apprentice Painter for our client, you will work as a part of a small team that is committed to providing their customers with the best service possible. Throughout the remainder of your apprenticeship you will learn all aspects of painting and decorating including how to apply paint, varnish and other finishes to protect, maintain and decorate interior and exterior surfaces, through both on and off the job training.

    To be successful in this role you must be reliable, hardworking, have a genuine desire to work, and have strong communication skills. A current White card is essential and a driver’s licence is preferred.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for providing an exceptional customer focused service within a small team. This will be achieved through the completion of general administration duties, helping employees with their requests, maintaining team and employee databases, undertaking simple financial processing and over time, preparation of routine documents. You will also be asked to assist the entire team with interesting organisational development projects on an ‘as required’ basis.

    On completion of your 12 month traineeship you will receive a nationally recognised qualification in Certificate III Business.  In addition you will experience a range of other great opportunities to grow your foundational human resource skills.

    The successful applicant will possess an awesome ‘can do’ attitude, have  great attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple tasks, be respectful to all others, have excellent communication skills both written and oral, a strong work ethic, work well in a team environment and have a willingness to learn.     The successful applicant will be exposed to a wide range of duties within this high-paced role including; the preparation and cookery of a range of meals using high quality, locally sourced produce, maintenance of kitchen hygiene, food presentation and creative menu design. Upon completion of this 3 year apprenticeship you will receive a Certificate III in Hospitality – Commercial Cookery.

    To be successful in this position you must be willing to work nights and weekends, possess a ‘can do’ attitude, have excellent communication skills, be well presented and be able to demonstrate a genuine commitment to learning all aspects of Commercial Cookery. A driver’s licence is essential.

    GTES are currently seeking expressions of interest from motivated individuals interested in participating in a fully funded plumbing pre-apprenticeship course in Wagga Wagga commencing in February 2016.

    Throughout this 8 week training course, you will develop essential foundational knowledge including interpretation of plans, calculation of material quantities, pipe installation and use of hand and power tools. Participants will also enjoy the opportunity to gain hands-on skills and experience with a local plumber.

    Upon successful completion of the course, GTES will support participants to secure a full plumbing apprenticeship.

    To become a part of this course, please provide a copy of your current resume as well as a cover letter outlining in 100 words or less why you would like to participate in this pre-apprenticeship course.

    Due to funding restrictions set by the NSW Department of Industry, places for this course are limited to 15. To be eligible to participate, you must meet the following criteria:

    • Have completed Year 10 or equivalent and be eligible to leave school
    • Be under 25 years of age

    Previous experience is essential as well as a current driver’s licence.
