  • APPRENTICE PAINTER

    GTES, in partnership with our client, currently have an excellent opportunity available for an enthusiastic and committed individual to take on the role of Apprentice Painter.

     As an Apprentice Painter for our client, you will work as part of a team that is committed to providing their customers with the best service possible. You will work on new homes, restorations and also some larger projects.

    Throughout the 4 year apprenticeship you will learn all aspects of painting and decorating including how to apply paint, primers and sealers, fill holes and cracks and prepare surfaces and other finishes to protect, maintain and decorate interior and exterior surfaces, through both on and off the job training.

    To be successful in this role you must be reliable, hardworking, have a good eye for detail, strong communication skills and have a genuine desire to work. Experience in the industry would be an advantage and a current driver’s licence is preferred.

    GTES, together with Wagga Wagga City Council, are currently seeking applications from highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals who are interested in starting their career in Horticulture.

    As an Apprentice Horticulturist you will work as a member of the Parks and Strategic Operations Division and will be responsible for the maintenance of gardens, lawns and sports fields, chemical application, irrigation and operation of plant and small equipment.

    To be successful in this position you must have a genuine interest in a career in the industry, be hard working, have good communication skills, work well in a team environment, and have good initiative. You must also be fit and healthy with a good attitude. A manual driver’s licence is preferred however a willingness to obtain a manual driver’s licence as soon as possible is essential. A Construction Induction Whitecard is also essential.

    As an Apprentice Marine Mechanic you will work as a member of the service team, which is dedicated to providing quality repairs and maintenance on a wide range of boats and accessories. Duties will include service and repair of engines, electronic diagnosis, installing accessories and general mechanical repairs. A lot of the skills you will gain are transferrable into other automotive trades.

    To be successful in this position you must be committed to delivering an excellent service, have a good attitude, strong work ethic, good problem-solving skills, be reliable and willing to learn, be mechanically minded and demonstrate a genuine interest in pursuing a career within the automotive industry.

    A current driver’s licence is preferred but not essential.
