    GTES, in conjunction with Temora Shire Council, are currently offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and hardworking individual to commence an Automotive Traineeship. This is an excellent opportunity to commence your career in a highly supportive organisation committed to providing a positive apprenticeship experience.

    During this 12 month traineeship you will be exposed to a wide variety of tasks including servicing and maintenance of plant, electronic diagnosis, fault tracing and general mechanical repairs. On completion of the traineeship, the successful applicant will receive a Certificate II in Automotive - Servicing Technology which is equivalent to completing the first 12 months of an automotive apprenticeship.

    The successful applicant will be reliable, mature-minded, have strong attention to detail, be willing to learn and demonstrate a genuine interest in pursuing a career within the automotive industry.

    Within this diverse role you will be responsible for the maintenance of parks, gardens and sporting fields within the shire, as well being involved with new projects and improvements. The successful applicant will work amongst a team of highly skilled tradespeople to learn all aspects of the trade including plant establishment and care, chainsaw operation, safe chemical application, turf management and irrigation system operation and maintenance. On completion of this apprenticeship, you will be rewarded with a Park & Garden Certificate III.

    To be successful for this position you must possess a passion for working outdoors, strong teamwork skills, take pride in your work and be physically fit. A current driver’s licence would be an advantage but is not essential.

    As an Events and Tourism Trainee you will assist with organising and planning of events, such as Junee Rhythm ‘n’ Rail Festival and La Festa Griffith,  maintenance of databases, sourcing and booking of venues, coordinating meeting agendas including meeting minutes , acceptance of RSVPs and providing other administration support as required. The successful applicant will also gain a wide range of exposure to aspects in both the tourism and events industries including experience in marketing and PR through maintenance of the clients website and social media pages. On completion of your 2 year traineeship you will receive a Certificate III in Events.

    To be successful in this position you must have a genuine interest in a career in either events or tourism, have excellent customer service, be reliable, well presented, have attention to detail, strong computer skills and a confident, positive attitude.      As an Apprentice Painter for our client, you will work as a part of a team that is committed to providing their customers with the best service possible. You will work on new homes, restorations and also some larger projects.

    Throughout the 4 year apprenticeship you will learn all aspects of painting and decorating including how to apply paint, primers and sealers, fill holes and cracks, prepare surfaces and other finishes to protect, maintain and decorate interior and exterior surfaces, through both on and off the job training.

    To be successful in this role you must be reliable, hardworking, have a good eye for detail, strong communication skills and be well presented. A current NSW White card is essential and a current driver’s licence is preferred.
