    As part of this traineeship you will be involved in the receiving, storage and distribution of parts, dispatching and receiving of stock and picking and processing orders.     Big River is an all Australian family owned company that has been supplying timber products for well over 100 years. Big River's plywood and veneer manufacturing facility, Ausply, has been located in Wagga Wagga, NSW, since 1958. Ausply manufactures a broad range of plywood and veneer products that can be found in homes, buildings and work sites across the country and pride ourselves on running a flexible plant with the highest level of customer service.  

    Over the two year Business Services traineeship, you will learn and eventually be responsible for liaising with branches, customers, freight providers and site production teams to ensure on time, cost effective delivery of products. The position will also handle walk-in sales and assist the sales team with quotes and the generation of new leads. For all your hard work you will gain a Certificate IV in Business Services, fantastic and thorough training, the opportunity to grow with an expanding company with strong promotional opportunities.

  • TRAINEE TECHNICAL OFFICERS – PROCESS

    Southern Oil’s Wagga Wagga plant is one of two facilities in Australia producing fully re-refined lube oil. The company collects and re-refines a significant portion of Australia’s annual waste lube oils from engines, hydraulics and gear oils.

    Together with Southern Oil Refineries, GTES are currently seeking applications from enthusiastic and motivated individuals who possess mechanical aptitude to take on the role of trainee Technical Officer in the Wagga Wagga plant.

    As a trainee Technical Officer you will undertake a wide range of plant operating and maintenance tasks involving plant housekeeping, preventative maintenance as well as tanker unloading and loading, reporting, fault identification, rectification and hands-on support. As part of this traineeship you will also be required to complete a Certificate III – Process Plant Operations, supported by the organisation and GTES.

    The successful applicants will have, at a minimum, completed their HSC or a trade certificate, have exceptional communication skills, be mature minded, have a good work ethic and be able to cope with changing workplace demands and situations. A current first aid certificate and forklift licence is required, but may be obtained after commencement.

    As part of this 2 year traineeship you will be involved in the storage and distribution of parts, dispatching and receiving of stock, picking and processing orders, assisting with phone and counter sales and applying product knowledge to organise work operations. In return for your hard work you will receive a Certificate III in Transport and Logistics - Warehousing Operations and have a great career opportunity to move into the sales department.

    To be successful in this role you will have strong computer and math skills, be able to work unsupervised and take initiative. You must have good communication skills, both written and oral, the ability to liaise with customers and co-workers and be mature-minded. A current driver’s licence is essential and strong knowledge of the Shepparton area would be an advantage.

Duties will include preparing the site for electronic installation, developing knowledge in the installation of security systems, assisting with the installation of electronic health services equipment such as nurse call buttons, and assisting tradesmen with all aspects of their work.

    The successful applicant will possess experience within the roof plumbing industry, be able to prioritise workloads, have excellent attention to detail, be able to demonstrate leadership ability and hold a current driver’s licence and white card.
