Who, What and Where

In the mid to late 1970s there emerged a realisation in some industry sectors that Australia was going to realise issues in trades skills areas in years to come.

This realisation resulted in the formation of our country’s first Group Training Company formed jointly by Lend Lease and the ACTU.

The GTES Board

Our company is an unlisted public company limited by guarantee.  The Board of Directors are all volunteers drawn from the community.  The Directors are people with a passion for the care and training of people who desire a career with formal qualifications.

The GTES Management Team

An experienced team manage the operations of GTES. This team ensuring that the company operates with sound economical principles, appropriate policies and procedures and the company's core values all considered.

Our Specialities

Group Training

The most experienced Group Training Company in the region, GTES offer a service that is designed to provide our apprentices and the Host Employers with a totally worry free apprenticeship.

The GTES team take care of paperwork relating to the apprenticeship and employment of the apprentice.  Workers Compensation; payroll; superannuation; all leave calculations; Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); pre-employment medical checks: they are all taken care of.

1. Introduction

 
Conflict of interest is defined as "A situation where a person has a personal interest in a matter the subject of a decision or duty of the person".
 
A conflict of interest may arise in the discharge of a staff member's official functions or duties, including: decision-making, handling complaints, applying policy, procedures, or codes, reporting or supervising staff and employees.
